Book Recommendations For The Weekend

Hello loves, it is January again and we’ve officially made it to the end of the week. Thank goodness! If you are like me, you will be staying indoors to avoid the sun and mostly because you really need a break.

But instead of watching hours of reality TV or moping, I would recommend you join the millions of bookaholics like me who will be reading a book this weekend. Not only will you learn something new, but it will help pass the time. This week’s recommendations are books I have read and loved so you can get them if you have nothing to read.

Becoming by Michelle Obama

This is one of the most talked about books right now, and with good reason. It is a beautiful book that will have you shedding happy tears, and at the end feeling like you can move mountains.

Syrian Brides by Anna Halabi

This one is for those who can’t read large novels. It is a collection of short stories centered on Muslim women that will have you laughing and rolling your eyes at the cheekiness of the characters. The stories have a familiar feel to them even if you haven’t heard them but the best thing of all is that you will be able to relate to at least one of the characters.
